Music for the Weekend: Why Even Try by Theophilus London (feat. Sara Quin)
It’s been a long, tough and emotionally draining week, a confluence of things both in and out of my control. It’s hard not to feel defeated at times, which is why having art in our lives is so incredibly important. Art can say the things we’re afraid to, it can express the things we have no words for.
I love this song and it fits the moment perfectly. The chorus is so dour until that very last line, which turns everything on its head. Sheer brilliance, and exactly what I needed right now.
